Volunteer

Habitat Sioux Falls provides hands-on volunteer opportunities in three main areas: construction, NR, and ReStore.

Construction

Construction involves all phases of new home construction with the exception of the features we subcontract like roofing and electrical. Please be aware construction is reserved for groups, but we do our best to accommodate individuals who want to work on new home construction as well. Email or call us at 605-332-5962 ext 12 to learn more.  Click BUILD to see the construction calendar.

NR

NR stands for Neighborhood Revitalization.  It’s like the curb appeal of a home. We paint, perform minor repairs and do some yard work. Consider it home preservation. Email or call us at 605-332-5962 ext 12 to learn more. Click NR to see the NR calendar.

ReStore

The ReStore offers two volunteer roles, cashier and stock room. Work in our ReStore, selling donated building materials to the general public. The three hour shifts are usually worked once a week, but can be worked once a month, depending on your availability. Click CASHIER to sign-up and see the cashier calendar. After signing up, please call Caryn at 605-330-1950. Training is required of our new cashiers. Caryn offers the training and will schedule it.

The stock room opportunity allows for more flexibility and includes receiving, repairing and preparing donated items for sale in the ReStore. Click STOCK ROOM to sign-up and see the stock room calendar. After signing up, please call Caryn at 605-330-1950.
