    Pope Francis House

What a shock and thrill to receive a call, out of the blue, asking us to build a house in the name of Pope Francis, fully funded by an anonymous donor! That’s how we started 2015. What an honor and privilege. It feels like a calling to lift up his name and work, in the […]

The angels were with us, breaking ground on four homes

They say the angels are with you when you’re surrounded by the number four. We broke ground on four homes, with four families, during the fourth month of the year, and each family has four children. Thanks to gifts-in-kind from our subcontractors, we’ve reached our goal of $1.4 million for the “Breaking New Ground” capital campaign! Construction is coming along nicely. We anticipate the building being fully enclosed by the end of March. Then, they’ll thaw the ground, install plumbing and electrical, and pour concrete. Fifteen houses a year, here we […]

About Habitat

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls builds and preserves homes with people in need who might not have a secure, safe home another way. We have built or rehabilitated 130 homes since our inception in 1989, helping 197 adults and 506 children! We have completed 89 critical home repairs, as a part of the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, since 2011.

Studies show owning a safe, affordable home impacts the health of the family members, improves children’s grades, and leads to more successful long-term goals and dreams, as well as broadens the tax base in a community. Learn More
